From the world of Percy Jackson, The Chalice of the Gods is an amazing story going back to the original trio of the series: Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood. The trio go on an unexpected quest together in order to get Percy recommendation letters from the gods.
Percy, who wants to go to New Rome University with his girlfriend, has to get 3 recommendation letters from the gods by going on quests for them in return. His first quest is given to him from the cupbearer of the gods, Ganymede. Ganymede has lost the chalice that allows him to do his job and there is a party coming up where he needs it. As Percy goes to get the chalice, he meets several gods and learns many lessons along the way.
The Chalice of the Gods is a wonderful novel that takes any Percy Jackson fan back to their childhood. Its action packed and full of wonderful moments with these adored characters.

Written in 2003, “The Gunslinger” by Stephen King is the first of his The Dark Tower series. The combination of genres, between sci-fi, fantasy, dystopia, and western tells the story of Roland Deschain, who is known as the last Mid-World gunslinger, and his hunting of “the man in black.”
I found this book to be a great start to the dark tower series and an overall encapsulating book. It seems that King can write about anything he can put his mind to, and it comes out as a great story.
